The Chicago News Cooperative (CNC), a non-profit news organization focused on providing in-depth coverage on all things Chicago, will suspend its service.
CNC Founder Jim O’Shea told his staff on Friday that they would cease operations on February 26, according to a report in the Chicago Reader.
The news organization produced pages for the Chicago Edition of the New York Times twice a week. They had partnerships with WTTW-Channel 11, Chicago public television, WBEZ and Chicago public radio, according to the CNC website.
O’Shea, a former managing editor for the Chicago Tribune, launched CNC in 2009 to provide a new source of fast-paced but disciplined reporting in depth.
