Anthony Rizzo Donates $2 Million to Children's Hospital

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo delivered another massive donation to Lurie Children’s Hospital this week, and he made sure to bring some smiles along with the big check.

Rizzo, who has donated millions of dollars to the hospital through his Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, donated another $2 million to help children that are dealing with cancer:

Rizzo also brought Amazon gift cards to patients at the hospital, so that they could buy themselves gifts while they’re dealing with the disease.

Last year, Rizzo announced that his foundation would fund a $3.5 million program to help families as their children battled cancer. Rizzo has been open about his own struggles with the illness, as he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma when he was just 18 years old.

The hospital named a waiting room in his honor after the massive donation last summer, prompting an emotional response from the first baseman.
