An intersection on Chicago's South Side was shut down for nearly two hours Thursday morning while authorities responded to a suspicious object that turned out to be a student's art project.
Authorities were called at about 9:45 a.m. to check a package on a Chicago Transit Authority bus that was parked at a turnaround location on the 2400 block of West 79th Street.
Police said the object turned out to be a student’s art project.
No. 49 Western buses were rerouted in the area during the investigation, according to the CTA.
