Watch: NHL Releases Time-Lapse Footage of Winter Classic Rink Build

The Winter Classic will feature the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins on Jan. 1

The NHL Winter Classic will soon take place at Notre Dame Stadium, and the rink at the fabled stadium is beginning to take shape.

This week, the league released a time-lapse video of the rink construction in South Bend, where the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins are set to do battle next week:

This will be the Blackhawks’ fourth appearance in the Winter Classic, while the Bruins will play in the game for the third time. The Blackhawks are 0-3 in the annual game, while the Bruins are 1-1, with a victory in the 2010 edition of the game at Fenway Park.
