The Chicago Bears have set their 53-man roster, and some big names won't be donning the team's colors this year.
Wide receiver Victor Cruz is among the 37 players that will be salsa-dancing elsewhere this season. The receiver signed a one-year contract with the Bears this offseason, but will be cut loose after losing out on the starting slot receiver job to Kendall Wright.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez ended up making the team, meaning that the Bears will carry three quarterbacks into the regular season. That likely means Mitchell Trubisky will be made inactive on game days, as Mike Glennon will be the starter in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Finally, linebacker Pernell McPhee passed his physical and will come off the Physically Unable to Perform List.
A few high-profile players have also been placed on injured reserve, including linebacker Lamarr Houston, who injured his knee in the Bears' final preseason game against the Cleveland Browns.
Quarterback Connor Shaw, also injured in the Cleveland game, was waived with an injury designation.
