A 15-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
At about 3:45 p.m., the boy was inside a van in the 300 block of South Springfield when someone fired shots at the vehicle, striking the teen in the neck and chest, police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition stabilized.
Police said a second person may have been shot, but could not immediately confirm Sunday afternoon. That person showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital but became uncooperative and left, according to police.
