Chicago-Warsaw Dreamliner Flights Launched

Nearly five months after the inaugural flight was grounded before take-off, LOT Polish Airlines on Wednesday launched its Chicago to Warsaw service using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Smoldering batteries on two 787s prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to ground the planes Jan. 16, the day the service was to be launched.

Boeing has since gone “10 steps beyond” to address the problems, Dominic Bernardo, LOT's head of U.S. sales, told the Chicago Sun-Times.

LOT officials gave reporters a tour of the plane, showing off bigger windows and its premium economy class, which has more seat and leg room. One LOT executive boasted; "Welcome to the future."
