A 4-month-old baby girl was taken to a hospital for observation and her father taken into custody after police said the man kicked in the door to a home in Chicago's Avalong Park neighborhood early Monday and took the girl.
The man forced his way into the home, on the 1100 block of East 82nd Street, after 3:30 a.m. after being involved in a domestic dispute, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said, citing preliminary information.
The man, who Sullivan said had a gun, then left the home with his daughter.
The baby was found around 9 a.m. and taken to Comer Children's Hospital for observation, police said. The father was taken into custody.
