At least 8 people, including teenagers, were injured after a school bus and motorcycle collided on Chicago's South Side Monday morning, officials said.
Multiple ambulances were called to the scene of the crash, which took place just before 7 a.m. near 109th Street and South Michigan Avenue.
In total, fire officials said eight people were hurt, including three adults and five children. One person, a 37-year-old, was listed in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center, authorities said.
Police, citing preliminary information, said the driver of the motorcycle was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
In addition, a 15-year-old girl was taken to Metro Hospital in good condition, two other 15-year-olds were taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition, and a 50-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition. One other person refused treatment, officials said.
Officials said 109th Street was shut down from Michigan to Wabash Avenues during the investigation into the crash.
