A fourth lawsuit has been filed against Megabus after one of their buses slammed into a bridge pillar along a southern Illinois freeway earlier this month.
Law firm Corboy & Demetrio filed the lawsuit Friday on behalf of Jason Whitaker, 20, one of the passengers in the August 2 crash that injured 47 people and killed a college student.
Whitaker suffered a concussion and injuries to his neck, back and wrist, according to a news release issued by the law firm.
The passengers were aboard the double-decker Megabus on Interstate 55 near Litchfield when authorities believe a tire blew out.
The law firm is also representing Donna Halstead, a 76-year-old woman who was killed when she was struck by a Megabus in Chicago last week. The firm also represents the family of Wes Krueger, who was struck and killed by a Megabus in 2010. That case was settled for $5.1 million last week.
Gov. Pat Quinn last week called for a federal investigation into the company after the incident near Litchfield and a second fatal crash days later in Chicago.
