An Amtrak employee was found dead in a rail yard Tuesday morning in Chicago's South Loop.
At about 7:15 a.m., officials said the employee was fatally injured at a mechanical facility near Canal Street and Roosevelt Road.
No other injuries were reported, Amtrak said in a statement.
"The incident occurred in the vicinity of a service and inspection building," the statement read.
The identity of the employee was not immediately released and the incident remained under investigation Tuesday.
