A Northwest Side Forest Glen neighborhood man was charged Thursday with soliciting young girls for sex on Facebook.
Aidan T. Lowry, 22, of the 5000 block of West Berwyn Avenue was charged with two felony counts of indecent solicitation of a minor, Morton Grove police Cmdr. Paul Yaras said. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal sexual abuse.
In May, Lowry began texting, speaking on the phone and having online conversations in chatrooms and Facebook with two girls, ages 12 and 13, Yaras said.
He later attempted to engage in sexual and pornographic activity with the children, Yaras said. One of the girls met Lowry once and he attempted to have sex with her but she refused.
Bond was set Friday at $150,000, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s office. He is scheduled to appear Oct. 31 for a preliminary hearing at the Skokie courthouse.
