NBC Storm Team 5 meteorologist Andy Avalos has your latest forecast update.

NOTE: NBC Chicago will offer a live stream with complete 2019 race coverage beginning at 7 a.m. on Oct. 13 right here.

For runners taking their marks at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, the temperatures will be ideal.

At the start of the race, temps are forecast to reach into the low-40s with dry conditions expected. Wind chill readings, however, will have it feeling closer to 32 degrees.

Though the temperatures will likely make for ideal running conditions, runners will still have to battle the wind, which will be gusting at 15 to 25 mph out of the west-southwest.

Highs are expected to reach into the low- to mid-50s as the day goes on, making for a partly sunny and cool afternoon.
