A woman died overnight after she was hit by a Metra train on the Northwest Side.
The women, in her 20s, has yet to be identified. She apparently was walking near the tracks when she was struck by the train at 5900 N. Central Ave. She died on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, The Sun-Times reports.
The medical examiner's office said the incident does appear to be suicide, however an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death.
Metra police are investigating the incident, according to the medical examiner's office. Metra has not yet commented on the incident.
