A woman has been charged with pouring boiling water on her 74-year-old neighbor's head.
Lynn Baggett, 51, allegedly offered to fix dinner for the elderly woman, who was lying on her couch at 1531 N. Clybourn Ave.
Baggett then heated a five-gallon pot of water and an unknown substance, according to reports. She walked over to the woman and poured it over her head.
The victim was taken in serious condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and treated for burns to the face, forehead, scalp, neck, back and shoulders.
Baggett was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Sunday at her apartment at 1531 N. Clybourn Ave. and charged with aggravated battery to a senior citizen and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
