Say goodbye to Fido, and hello to Bella. A social networking site has released a list of the most popular dog names in the country and revealed what Chicagoans most often name their furry four-legged friends.
Nextdoor.com created the list of the top dog names across the country and in the city in preparation for National Dog Day on Aug. 26. “Bella” was listed as the Windy City’s most popular name.
The name Bella was also listed as the top dog name in the nation, and was most commonly the name of Yorkshire terriers in Chicago, according to the report.
The list was created using data collected from Nextdoor.com users in more than 70,000 neighborhoods across the country.
