Police: Student Arrested After “Hoax” Bomb Threat to Lansing High School

An anonymous bomb threat was phoned in to Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing on Friday morning

A student has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat called in to a south suburban high school Friday morning that turned out to be a hoax, authorities said.

An anonymous bomb threat was phoned in to Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing on Friday morning, according to a statement from Lansing police.

Police and school staff and administrators searched the school, but the threat was determined to be a hoax, police said. Students were not evacuated from the building and classes continued through the end of the school day.

The investigation to determine who made the call led to the arrest of a juvenile student, according to police. The student was petitioned into juvenile court.
