Southwest Airlines Flight Diverted to O'Hare After Engine Issue: Aviation Department

A Southwest Airlines flight from Midway Airport was diverted to O’Hare International Airport Monday due to an “engine issue,” the city’s Department of Aviation confirmed.

Southwest Airlines flight 1914 headed to Hartford, Connecticut, landed safely just before 2:30 p.m., a department spokeswoman said. 

"We are in the process of sending another aircraft to O’Hare to get our 139 Customers to Hartford this evening," Southwest Airlines said in a statement.

The original aircraft is being taken out of service for a maintenance review, the airline.
