Mentally Challenged Man Missing for Over a Week

Tyron Edwards has mental health issues, may be confused

A 38-year-old man who is on medications and has mental health issues has been missing for more than a week from the South Side.

Police have issued a missing persons alert for Tyron Edwards, who was last seen on Dec. 2 in the area of the 6300 block of South Fairfield Avenue.

Edwards is a black man, about 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, with a medium complexion and a goatee. When last seen he was wearing faded blue jeans, a gray wool jacket, an Indiana Colts skull cap and a Detroit Tigers baseball cap over it.

He has mental health issues and may be confused, police say. Edwards is in need of medication and may not be able to effectively communicate verbally.

Police ask if anyone sees Edwards to call Wentworth Area Special Victims Unit detectives, at (312) 747-8385.
