Man Sentenced to 32 Years for Sex-Trafficking Chicago Teen

Antonio Rosales is awaiting trial on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse

A man convicted of sex-trafficking a Chicago teenager who was later strangled has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman sentenced Joseph Hazley on Tuesday after the mother of 16-year-old Desiree Robinson urged her to hold the girl's pimp accountable for treating her "as if she were a piece of clothing."

A federal jury convicted the 35-year-old Hazley in March of trafficking the girl. Authorities say she was killed in December 2016 by a man who answered an online sex advertisement Hazley posted on the now-shuttered Backpage.com site. The girl was killed after Hazley dropped her off to have sex with the man accused of killing her.

Antonio Rosales is awaiting trial on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse.
