Man Steals Computers, Cash From Elementary School on Christmas Eve

Surveillance cameras captured a man damaging the building’s interior before stealing student’s funding and equipment

Police are searching for a thief who burglarized a suburban Chicago elementary school Wednesday evening, making off with computers and cash intended for the children’s learning programs.

'Twas the night before Christmas, or so the story goes, but instead of a visit from St. Nicholas surveillance cameras at Raymond Ellis School in Round Lake Beach captured a man breaking into the public school around 6:30 p.m. at 720 Central Park Drive.

In the surveillance footage, a man is seen damaging the building’s interior before stealing the student’s funding and equipment, police said.

Police asked for the community’s help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information can contact officials at (847) 270-9111.
