A man was violently beaten and robbed before being thrown into Lake Michigan outside Chicago's Shedd Aquarium early Wednesday morning.
The 23-year-old was walking on a path just after midnight in the 1200 block of Lake Shore Drive when police say several men and a woman approached him and began to beat him.
The group took his backpack and cell phone before throwing him into the lake, according to authorities.
The man was able to get out of the water and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition, police said.
