Man, Boy Charged with Abusing Dogs and Puppies

Police said the two posted video of dog torture on YouTube

A Chicago man and a boy are accused of abusing dogs and puppies – and posting videos of it on YouTube.

Joshua Moore, 22, was charged with four animal torture felonies and eight misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. The juvenile, whose name was not released, faces similar felony and misdemeanor charges.

Police say the two posted videos of themselves swinging small dogs on their leashes in circles, according to The Chicago Tribune. At one point, police say, one of them bragged the dog was moving as fast as a propeller.

The videos, which have since been pulled from YouTube, also showed dogs being forced to eat their own feces, and a dog frantically searching for her newborn puppies, after the two hid them around the house.

Police were tipped off by a complaint from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and they confiscated five dogs and five puppies from a home in the South Austin neighborhood.

Moore and the juvenile are scheduled to appear in court Friday.
