A DEA agent was injured after being hit by a car in the Ashburn neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side Sunday afternoon in the course of a narcotics investigation, officials said.
The suspect hit the agent with his or her car near the intersection of 82nd Street and Kedzie Avenue. Shots were fired at the intersection at about 12:50 p.m.
The agent was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he is receiving treatment for critical injuries.
Police were searching for the offender Sunday afternoon.
