Grenade found in Goodwill Donations

Workers evacuated, area secured

The Waukegan Bomb Squad was called to Mundelein Wednesday night when workers at a Goodwill store discovered a grenade mixed in with donated items.

The Sun Times is reporting that the device was determined a nonexplosive training grenade by the squad, according to Deputy Chief Mike O'Brien of the Mundelein Police Department.

Police were called to the Goodwill Industries store, 761 S. Midlothian Road around 9 p.m.  Workers evacuated the building and the area was secured.
