Frozen Hydrants Stall Firefighters

No injuries were reported in the blaze

Chicago firefighters called for backup in a South Side apartment fire early this morning when they encountered frozen hydrants.

Water had to be brought in from the next block to fight the blaze near 80th and Paulina.

The three-story building was being renovated and was vacant. No injuries were reported, and the fire was under control after water was brought in. Police continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
