2 Teen Girls Charged With Assaulting Boy

The girls were charged with several felonies for allegedly handcuffing and battering the boy, who has special needs

Two Indiana teenagers were charged Monday with luring a 17-year-old boy with special needs to their home and assaulting him.

The girls, ages 16 and 14 of Valparaiso, were charged with a number of felonies, the Chicago Tribune reports. They are accused of threatening the 17-year-old with a knife then handcuffing him and sexually battering him.

They eventually released the boy, and he and his mother reported the incident to police.

Police took the girls into custody following a search of the home. In an interview with police, the girls said they both knew the victim, though they provided no rationale behind the incident, the Northwest Indiana Times reports.

The 16-year-old was charged with criminal deviate conduct, sexual battery and criminal confinement. The 14-year-old was charged with intimidation, battery with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement.

They're being held at the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center.
