1 man is dead and another injured after a shooting on the city's Northwest Side Friday evening, according to police.
The shooting occurred at 6:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of W Armitage Ave in the Logan Square neighborhood, officials confirmed.
A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene. A 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the right leg and was taken to an area hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.
The victims, both documented gang members, heard shots and felt pain, according to police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not confirm the fatality and further details were not immediately available.
