What You're Doing Today (and Tonight): Dec. 23

A midday holiday concert, lighting a giant menorah and a sexy Santa party

AFTERNOON DELIGHT: Got the day off of work? Lucky you. Celebrate the season at the Symphony Center for the "Welcome Yule!" afternoon concert. Members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Midwest Young Artists Voices Rising and Welcome Yule! Dance Ensemble perform in this holiday-themed show. 1PM, $20-$85.

CHILLY CHANUKKAH: Bundle up and head to the Philip H. Sheridan statue at Belmont Avenue and Lake Shore Drive (you'll find it) for the lighting ceremony of a 17-foot-tall menorah. There will also be live music, doughnuts and latkes (bring your own coffee or hot chocolate to stay warm). 6:30PM, free.

SANTA BABY: Jump to the top of the naughty list at Stone Lotus' "Naughty Santa Christmas Party." The River North club is hosting St. Nick along with dancers from local "gentlemen's clubs." We can only assume Mrs. Claus is busy with the elves. DJs Victor R. and Jesse Seely set the sexy tone. 10PM-4AM, $20, no cover with RSVP at faith@stonelotuslounge.com before midnight and $10 after.
