Cash prizes will be given out for the best female Samba dancers, and if you don't want to participate, trust us, this is just as much fun to watch. 10 p.m., 2539 North Kedzie

SCHOOL'S OUT: Be the first to experience the newest addition to the Gold Coast nightlife scene tonight with the grand opening of Detention, which claims to be the first venue on the popular strip near Division and State Street to offer a high-end nightclub experience. Detention takes over the old Bar Chicago space at 9 W Division Street and offers music every night, VIP areas with bottle service and a staff dressed in school girl uniforms, which we're assuming, or hoping, will be all female.
