Are You Ready To Rock?

River North's Lasalle Power Co. set to open

Has anyone told River North that the economy is in the dumps? Apparently not, judging by the restaurants and bars that continue to pop up.

Their ignorance is your social gain, as yet another spot is ready to pop. This time it's the boys behind English, Grand Central and Angels & Mariachis who are making their move with the brand new LaSalle Power Co. (500 N. LaSalle).

The 20,000 square foot space is described as a "tri-level rock 'n roll inspired restaurant, bar and music venue."

The vintage rock club will offer live stage shows to go along with a full lunch and dinner menu and breakfast all day. After all, rockers don't get up before noon, right?

Look for local and national artists to perform, along with comedy acts and well-known DJs.

The historic building used to house the LaSalle Street Cable Car Powerhouse, and more recently was where Michael Jordan's restaurant used to reside.

Special touches include a private, glass-enclosed "Red Light Room," which offers a personal waitress and VIP access to other floors.

The club is hosting a series of soft opening special events until it opens to the public on May 1.
