Girls on the Run Organization Hosts Ninth-Annual Benefit

Passing along the joys of running, health and self-respect to girls ages 8 to 13, Girls on the Run - Chicago is an non-profit organization of more than 350 volunteer coaches who work in schools and the community. The group will host its ninth-annual gala, entitled "Celebrating Life Outside the Box," at the Park West on Friday, Nov. 21.

The benefit's silent auction and raffle have become legendary amongst the socialite set for their big-ticket items, such as surfing lessons, a Subaru kayak and tickets to an Oprah taping (and we all know how hard those are to come by).

The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a VIP reception offering private lounges, custom sushi-rolling from Kamehachi, cocktails made with Borba skincare drinks and special gift bags stocked with everything from eco-friendly yoga mats to gift cards for Chicago dining hotspots. The gala opens to general admission from 8 p.m. until midnight, featuring passed hors d'oeuvres from Levy Restaurants, cocktails and entertainment by local rock band Underwater People.

Tickets range from $120 for general admission to $150 for an all-access pass, and can be bought on the Girls on the Run Website.
