Say it isn't so Stevie G! Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard spent Sunday night in jail following a possible bar brawl and is still being questioned by police. Gerrard was arrested with five other men, so it's not exactly clear what his role in the incident was.
It's hard to fathom that an international star like Gerrard, with the hopes and dreams of Liverpool fans around the world pinned to his No. 8 shirt, would risk so much by throwing down against a DJ -- even if he wouldn't play Gerrard's requests. Of course, with alcohol involved, anything is possible. With the details so vague it's impossible to speculate what Gerrard's part in the fracas was.
It's just a shame that so many professional soccer players ask like spoiled little babies with sophomoric sexual escapes and unfortunate drunk driving arrests. Gerrard seemed like a guy you could really relate to and empathize with, so to see him spending the night in jail answering questions with the police is a tad discouraging.
At the very least he didn't shoot himself in the fleshy part of the thigh with his own glock.
