Bank Volunteers Hit the Streets

Harris Bank CEO and employees spend the day serving others

It's what President Obama has asked Americans to do. Pitch in. Volunteer. Help.

Dozens of local Harris Bank employees kicked off a day of community service on Pioneer Court this morning, as Hubert, The Harris Lion and Benny The Bull cheered them on.

More than 1,500 Harris Bank and BMO Capital Markets employees will lend a helping hand to 70 different agencies in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, New York and Washington today.

Activities include serving meals to those in need, painting, cleaning, tutoring, and reading to children.

Joining the volunteers is Harris Bank's President and CEO Ellen Costello, who will donate her time and energy to children with disabilities at a the Easter Seals' location on West Roosevelt Road.

Costello will help with the center’s annual kindergarten transition celebration, working with children (ages 3-5) on activities such as face painting, sack races, ring toss, etc.
