Meeks: I Live in Chicago

State Sen. James Meeks, who is contemplating a run for mayor, tried Wednesday to put residency questions to rest.

"I have lived in the church parsonage for 20 years," he said in a telephone interview.

Candidates for Mayor of Chicago are required to live in the city of Chicago for at least the last calendar year, the Chicago Board of Elections stipulates.

The pastor of Salem Baptist Church's remark was a direct address to rumors that he does not live within city limits, but rather in the Village of Dolton.
