Carlos Boozer has been on a tear since late December and has been a bright spot for Tom Thibdoeau’s club. The Bulls' big man has posted a double-double in 11 of his last 12 games and his play has been one of the key reasons the Bulls have won eight of those contests including victories over the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics – all potential playoff teams.
Boozer’s strong play has garnered him much-deserved attention and recognition, and on Monday, the NBA announced he’d been named last week’s Player of the Week in the Eastern Conference.
The Bulls went 3-1 in games against Atlanta, the Toronto Raptors, the aforementioned Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies. For the week, Boozer averaged 23 points and a league-leading 14.8 rebounds, capping it off with a monster 19 point, 20 rebound effort last Friday night against Boston.
Boozer beat out other Eastern Conference nominees such as Miami’s LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers young point guard, Jrue Holiday.

The veteran will have to continue his strong play from a scoring and rebounding perspective as the Chicago Bulls host Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and the rest of the struggling Los Angeles Lakers, Monday night at the United Center.
