All inbound traffic was blocked headed into the city for 45 minutes as fire crews doused the blaze.

Morning traffic was backed up on Interstate 55, the Stevenson Expressway, after a tractor trailer caught fire.

NBC Chicago news producer Lacey McCraney said the incident was blocking the inbound lanes of the Stevenson near South Western Avenue.

All inbound traffic was blocked headed into the city for 45 minutes as fire crews doused the blaze which appeared to be coming from the trailer.

The incident was just another snag in morning commute already made nasty by lake effect snow showers.
