Get in Free at the Shedd Aquarium

Free admission to Illinois residents this week

Chicago's Shedd Aquarium is closing for two days this week for routine maintenance, training and cleaning.

The downtown aquarium along Lake Michigan will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that the Shedd reopens Wednesday for nearly a week of free admission for Illinois residents.

State residents will get in free to the original galleries and get discounted admission to all of the other exhibits through Saturday, Jan. 28.

The same deal will be available Mondays and Tuesdays in February as well.
