The Chicago Field Museum is going for the gold with a new exhibit slated to open Wednesday.  How precious.

Field Museum's newest exhibit, "Gold," includes such artifacts as Shani Davis' two speed skating gold medals, the 2005 Chicago White Sox World Series trophy and some Oscar statuettes.

The American Museum of Natural History organized the exhibit, which includes more than 550 gold specimens, artifacts and jewelry from generations past and present, and sent it to Chicago.

"Gold" is on display at the Field Museum in the same area that recently showcased "The Nature of Diamonds."

The exhibit runs through March 6, 2011.
