Let's get one thing straight. Pitchfork isn't trying to be the biggest music festival in the world. Their focus is on quality, not the amount of stages and people you can shove into one space. Where else are you going to see a monumental set like last year when Public Enemy performed their entire classic album "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back?" Or this year, when fans picked the Flaming Lips' playlist in the Write the Night online vote. Forget the frills and over-commercialization, Pitchfork represents what a festival of this kind should -- strictly the music.

- NAME Pitchfork is one of the few fests that is actually "curated". Lolla is just one of many C3 Events that look the same all over the country.Pitchfork is one of the few fests that is actually "curated". - rarestock less restrictions, lower pricetag, easier to get from stage to stage, less corporate, newer bands, greater potential to discover new music, Chirp Record Fair = 1 million times better than FYE tent store, better crowd/vibe...& i love lolla. been every year since it became Chicago only, but P4k wins this competition hands down.less restrictions, lower pricetag, easier to get from stage to stage, less corporate, newer bands, greater potential to discover new music, Chirp Record Fair = 1 million times better than FYE tent store, better crowd/vibe...& i love lolla. been every year since it became Chicago only, but P4k wins this competition hands down.
