Paula Faris joined the NBC5 Sports team in November 2005 as a reporter/anchor. Recently, Paula won an Emmy for co-hosting "Hometown Hopefuls," a Winter Olympics special featuring Chicago-area Olympic hopefuls.

In the past, Paula was a Sports Anchor/Reporter at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, OH. Prior to that, she worked at WKEF/WRGT-TV in Dayton, OH, the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and FOX Sports. It was at Cedarville University ('97) that Paula got her start in sports broadcasting. She covered minor league hockey and college basketball games all while pursuing a degree in Broadcasting, emphasizing in Sports Television Production.

The youngest of four children, Paula hails from Jackson, MI. Just down the road at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, her passion for sports began, as Saturdays were reserved for Michigan football. Not content to just watch the game, Paula grew up playing just about everything--soccer, gymnastics, swimming, track and field, until finally settling on softball in high school. But, knowing she wasn't going to set the sports world on fire, she took some tips from her high school drama teacher and pursued broadcasting.

Of Lebanese, Polish and Lithuanian descent, Paula loves that Chicago is an ethnic melting pot. She and her husband, John, are thrilled to call Chicago home. John and Paula welcomed their first baby, Caroline Grace, September 5th, 2007.

Paula is currently on maternity leave after she and John welcomed their son, JJ, to the world on August 7th.
