Chipotle Anti-Fast Lasts 153 Days and Counting

Two men who have never met appear to have in common a similar zest for fast Mexican food. Both men started eating Chipotle every day for the last 100-plus days and have taken to social media to write about their experience on the diet.

Los Angeles animator Andrew Hawryluk, 23, is documenting his Mexican food habit on his Chipoltlife blog, calling it a "culinary endurance art piece." Hawryluk says he's eaten Chipotle at least once a day for the past 153 days, spending $1,567 and consuming 110,890 calories.

On his blog, he says he typically orders a burrito bowl consisting of white rice, chicken, guacamole, and lettuce with Tabasco chipotle sauce on top. He prefers a bowl so he doesn't have to eat with his hands.

Hawryluk's food project started on Feb. 18, the first day of Lent, as an anti-fast. He's taken a photo of each of his receipts to prove his purchases at the "best restaurant," as he calls it.

This feat is not so unique, though.

Mark Rantal of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is also chronicling his Chipotle addiction. On July 14, Rantal celebrated his 100th lunch at Chipotle and posted a photo of himself to his Facebook page holding a plate of food with candles outside the restaurant to celebrate the milestone.

Yesterday was my 100th day in a row eating Chipotle! I'm currently doing a Reddit AMA (ask me anything) and am on the...

"We are fortunate to have such fiercely loyal and enthusiastic customers. While these guys are taking that farther than most, we have a lot of people who are very loyal and regular customers," said Chris Arnold, a spokesman for Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Neither Hawryluk nor Rantal is a paid spokesperson, according to the food chain.
