Sox Sign Jake Peavy to $29 Million Contract

Two-year contract could be extended through 2015

The Chicago White Sox made a big move to stabilize its starting pitching staff.

The South Siders re-signed Jake Peavy to a two-year $29 million contract. If he meets certain performance incentives, the contract could be extended through 2015 for $15 million.

Peavy was 11-12 with a 3.37 during the 2012 season.

He was also awarded a Gold Glove on Tuesday.

The Sox also picked up the 2013 option on pitcher Gavin Floyd.
