Illinois Races: Jason Plummer for Lt. Governor

"As a small businessman, I know what it takes to create new jobs in Illinois"

Jason Plummer is running for Lt. Governor and he's banking on experience from running the family business to give him a boost.

Plummer went from Vice president of the University of Illinois' student body to Vice President for Corporate Development for R.P. Lumber Co., his family's business.  He has most recently worked to develop a hotel, revitalize a retail shopping center a bring new jobs to Lincoln, extending the lumber business to 43 communities.

"I've got a lot of experience that is necessary. I've run a business, I've worked in the private sector, I have the experience to run an organization successfully," Plummer said. "People like someone who has what I call real-world experience."

As an officer in the United States Navy Reserves, the Edwardsville native served under US Senator Peter Fitzgerald with The Heritage Foundation, a renowned conservative public policy research institute that focuses on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedoms, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

He received a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign.
