Police: Driver in Fatal Interstate 57 Crash Near Peotone Dies

The driver of the vehicle involved in Thursday's rollover crash on Interstate 57 near Peotone has died, according to Illinois State Police. 

The man, identified as 30-year-old Jerry McCullum of Bradley, IL, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and was airlifted to a local hospital. 

McCullum's passenger, identified as 20-year-old Bryanna Dean of Kankakee, was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Thursday afternoon. She was also ejected from the vehicle. 

The accident occurred just before noon Thursday when a Chevrolet Impala, traveling southbound on the roadway, struck a semi-trailer and rolled over into the northbound lanes, according to police. 

Dean, who was transported to a hospital after the crash, was pronounced dead a short time later. 

The driver of the semi-truck involved in the crash was unharmed, according to authorities, and an investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
