The FDA and the Illinois Department of Public Health have issued a public notice after Del Monte recalled veggie trays that were sold in Illinois and Indiana stores.
The 28-ounce trays have been associated with what officials call a “cluster of cyclosporiasis.” The trays were sold at a variety of retailers, including Kwik Trip, Demond’s, Sentry, Country Market, and Peapod, and have a “Best if Enjoyed By” date of June 17 or earlier.
The trays consisted of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip.
The Department of Public Health recommends that consumers throw out the vegetable tray if it’s already been purchased.
No cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported in Illinois, according to the warning. The intestinal disease can cause diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, and nausea, in addition to other symptoms.
