An off-duty officer on her way to work was injured in a crash on Chicago's South Side on Friday morning, a department spokesperson confirmed.
The female officer was driving in the area of West 47th Street and South Wentworth Avenue when her vehicle collided with another.
The driver of the other vehicle drove off, the spokesperson said.
Video from NBC Chicago's helicopter at 6 a.m. showed the officer's vehicle with front end damage.
The officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was reportedly admitted with minor injuries.
