Somebody get the mayor an ice compress or a raw steak.

At an event on Monday to announce winter heating assistance services, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley made his remarks with a darkened, swollen right eye.

Press secretary Jacquelyn Heard was scant on details, but said the mayor hurt himself during a workout session over the weekend.

"As he typically does over the weekend, he was working out using a weight machine and accidentally grazed the side of his face with the equipment," she told the Chicago Sun-Times.

No word on whether he smacked the equipment back.
