Temps Improve for Memorial Day Weekend, But Rain Possible

A chance for showers first moves in during the evening hours Saturday

Memorial Day weekend in the Chicago area looks to be a little warmer but it could also be a bit wet.

Following an unseasonably cold couple of days (O’Hare Airport saw a high of 48 degrees Wednesday), temperatures will rise back into the 60s by Thursday and Friday.

Friday will likely be the coolest day of the holiday weekend, with highs sitting in the low- to mid-60s.

Temps rise in the 70s Saturday with partly sunny skies forecast.

A chance for showers first moves in during the evening hours Saturday. Showers and storms are likely Sunday, but there should be several dry hours in between any rain, according to forecasters.

Things warm into the upper-70s and low-80s by Monday with the chance for occasional showers and thunderstorms continuing.

The holiday weekend likely won't be a washout as area is expected to see more dry hours than wet.

The warmer temps and chances of rain look to stay in the area for the start of the week with highs in the upper-70s Tuesday and Wednesday.
