Teen Shot While Riding School Bus

An 18-year-old is in the hospital after a bullet penetrated the school bus he was riding in and hit him in the leg.

The shooting took place on a school bus at 62nd Street and Steward Avenue, according to a witness. She said Dunbar High School students were on the bus after a basketball game agianst Englewood High School when someone fired shots onto the bus.

Bullets shattered two windows and left a hole on the side of the bus. It was the bullet that made hole, which hit the student.

Police confirmed there was a shooting at the intersection just after 8 p.m.

The driver of the bus then drove the wounded teen to Provident Hospital.
